WE ARE COMPANIONS ON A JOURNEY

Liturgical Year 2024 -2025

Some of our Key Stage 2 pupils shared their Minutes of Hope with us today:

  • “Hope is the sparkle that shows up even when the day feels cloudy.”
  • “Hope is when I fall down but still think I can run again.”
  • “Hope is when I fall down but still think I can run again.”

These reflections remind us that hope isn’t always big and loud—it can be small, quiet, and steady, guiding us through each day.

End of Jubilee Celebration Day and World Youth Fun Day

Our GIFT Team brought the Jubilee logo to life today as they completed their own pilgrimage around school.

They finished their journey with a beautiful outdoor prayer service, taking time to pause, reflect, and give thanks for our Jubilee year.

A truly meaningful way to celebrate our journey as Pilgrims of Hope.

Our children were buzzing seeing their shout out on the live World Youth Sunday Jubilee Celebration day with CYMFed – Catholic Youth Ministry Federation, The Mark 10 Mission and CAFOD. A day filled with fun, reflection and prayer.

Tree of Remembrance

Throughout November, our GIFT Team and Laudato Si’ Team led our school in creating a beautiful Tree of Remembrance. Pupils, staff and families were invited to write a tag in memory of a loved one who has passed away. These tags were hung on our tree as a sign of love, prayer and remembrance.

At the end of the month, the GIFT and Laudato Si’ Teams gathered the tags and returned them to the earth by turning them to mush and placing them back in the soil. This symbolic act reminded us of God’s promise of new life, our call to care for creation, and the belief that those we have lost remain held in God’s love.

This activity reflected key elements of Catholic Social Teaching—honouring the dignity of every person, showing solidarity with those who are grieving, and caring for God’s creation in the spirit of Laudato Si’.

Remembrance Service Led by Year 5

Today at 11:00am, Year 5 led our whole‑school Remembrance service with great respect and reverence. They guided us in reflection and a two‑minute silence to honour all those who have lost their lives in conflict.

This moment linked strongly to Catholic Social Teaching as we recognised the dignity of every human person, stood together in solidarity, and prayed for peace in our world.

We are very proud of Year 5 for leading such a thoughtful and meaningful service.

Cut Your Carbon – Stewards of Earth

Our Laudato Si Team ran the cut your carbon challenge in November. They ran a launch assembly reminding us that: We are stewards of creation, and we were called to look after our Earth. A check list was sent home for them to cut the carbon and then they returned it to school so we could enter our data in the national competition and see how much Carbon we had cut.

The Rosary Challenge

Throughout October, our school community has been gathered in a special way to honor Mary, our Mother. On Friday, our GIFT Team (Growing in Faith Together) led a beautiful and prayerful Rosary Liturgy, inviting pupils and staff to pause and reflect on the life of Jesus through Mary’s eyes. We took part in Laudato Si Ecological Rosary

National Day of Solidarity

Solidarity is one of the themes of Catholic Social Teaching. We are called to show compassion and respect over hate.

We are being asked to come together to reflect, remember, and stand for values of respect, tolerance, and freedom of worship as a nation.

Across the school we held a minute silence and lit a candle to remember the tragic events of last Thursday and show our solidarity

Mission Week

What an incredible way to wrap up Mission Week! Our Mission Day began with a powerful Morning Assembly, where our school family gathered to set our intentions for the day. Led by our Faith in Action Teams (GIFT, Caritas, and Laudato Si’), we reflected on our shared mission: “Living, Learning, Loving, and Laughing in the footsteps of Our Lord.”

Following the assembly, the school was transformed into a living sanctuary as each class designed and hosted their own Prayer Station, uniquely linked to our core school values.

A special thank you to all who participated and helped make this day so impactful! To top it off, we made a donation to Missio , the Pope’s international charity for mission, continuing our commitment to support those in need.

From prayer trails to community giving, it’s been a week filled with faith, reflection, and unity.

Watch the video to see how we wrapped up this unforgettable week of service and prayer.

Harvest Family Fast Day 2025

Harvest Festival: Sharing Our Abundance

As we celebrate the season of Harvest, we are reminded of our mission to be “companions on a journey” with those in our local community. This year, our Harvest Collection will once again support the incredible work of Urban Outreach, ensuring that families in Bolton have access to essential food and supplies.

In the spirit of the Gospel, we invited our school family to donate items that will provide nourishment and hope to those facing hardship. Every tin, packet, or carton donated is a tangible act of “Love in Action.”

Our school community gathered for a truly special Harvest Festival Assembly, uniquely led by our GIFT Team and Caritas Ambassadors. It was a powerful witness to our mission, seeing our student leaders work in harmony to highlight the importance of gratitude and charity.

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon! It was a heart-warming occasion where our school family came together to support a cause that touches so many lives.

As a Catholic community, we are called to show compassion and care for others. Seeing our hall filled with parents, grandparents, and friends sharing a cup of tea and a slice of cake was a beautiful reflection of our commitment to Gospel Values.

Season of Creation

Year 2 have been planting daffodils in our outdoor areas as part of Season of Creation- We can’t wait till spring to see them fully grown.
